<div>The Illinois State Senior Amateur Championship, conducted annually by the Chicago District Golf Association, was first held in 1987. The Championship is open to Illinois residents age 55 and older. It is a 54-hole event, with the entire field playing 36 holes over the course of two days and the low 35 and ties playing the final 18 on the third day. The winner of the Championship is the recipient of the Earl R. Liff Trophy, which was claimed by Scot Frankenreider for the second-consecutive year in 2023 at Rockford Country Club.</div>

<div>The event is part of the Better Through Birdies series, where a matching pool of $5,000 has been designated by CDGA corporate partners in support of CDGA Foundation community impact programs. Donations made through the Illinois State Senior Amateur Championship will beneift the CDGA Foundation Scholarship &amp; Grant Program. Awards include the CDGA Veteran Scholarship, CDGA/Folds of Honor Scholarship, CDGA/IWGA Julia Dodds Scholarship and the CDGA/IWGA Mini-Grant Program.</div>

<div>At the CDGA, we believe that together we are “<strong>Better Through Golf</strong>.” We create opportunities for everyone to access the game and experience its benefits through adaptive, therapeutic and youth programs.</div>
<div>New in 2024, CDGA members can support these initiatives by playing or pledging along in one of the following events under our "Better Through Birdies" Series. Each event and championship will benefit a specific CDGA community Sunshine Program including: Youth on Course, women's golf scholarships &amp; grants, veteran and adaptive golf programs.</div>
